This Blink Lite is really fun to ride, and practical, too. I’ve been able to run errands in my neighborhood. Riding is very smooth, built quality is solid, mostly the price is so goood. And this is coming from someone who previously had never skateboarded. Love it!

    Pros:
    Amazingly light and portable
Fits in a checked bag for airline travel
No drag when you pull off the throttle/easy coasting downhill
Slow enough to not be scary for its size
Cheapest option on the market currently

    Cons:
    Unstable at downhill speeds
Poor/almost useless braking (even following their specific braking instructions)
Almost no uphill usability (although this is disclosed in their incline rating)
    Won’t fit in a carry-on

    Vs
Boosted: A small fraction of the price, but slower and smaller
E-go: Smaller, but due to E-go’s speed limiter, roughly the same top speed. Less than half the price and almost 1/3 of the range.
Zboard: Smaller, slower, cheaper, different control mechanism

My story with my Blink Lite is kinda interesting: I made my purchase of the board out of need. As a student who has just experienced his first year in college, I’ve come to realize how drastically larger a college campus can be compared to your local high school. Students use skateboards and bikes as a means of transportation due to the limited amount of parking spots (also because many of them come from out of state). My naive self had no idea how tiresome walking could be, so during summer, I’ve turned to see what skateboards I could purchase. The Blink Lite caught my attention not only because it’s an electric skateboard, but also because it’s only 7lbs, which is much lighter than most electric skateboards out there AND even some non-electric skateboards. I gave it a shot; I’ve loved it ever since.

The board can get pretty fast in a matter of seconds, but not blazing so fast that you would feel like you’re putting your life on the line. My guess is that this is made for safety reasons–I can see how it would bother some racing enthusiasts, though. Unlike many of the other electric boards I’ve seen, the Blink Lite seems to be using a hub motor instead of a gear-belt one. The acceleration feels smooth and braking doesn’t feel too abrupt. Everything you do with the electric board is accessed via the smartphone app (for speed settings and checking battery life) and the remote controller (for controlling your speed/going in reverse). Even when the board ran out of batteries, I was still able to use the board like a regular skateboard. Without power, it felt exactly like how a normal skateboard should be. So far, I’m extremely satisfie. The build quality is great; the battery power is pretty impressive for its weight and size. Definitely has great value for being around 400 bucks.

My friend recently bought this skateboard and I tried it a couple of times before ordering my own. The idea of an electric skateboard and its artistic design initially sparked my curiosity, and as soon as I got on the board, I was not disappointed by my riding experience. It’s fairly easy to learn how to control the board for beginners like myself, and the speed is just right. (Thanks to the three different speed modes!) It’s been addictively fun, and it feels cool. But I do see opportunities for using it for short commute like getting to the bus stop in the morning. I do wish the board has a longer range than 5 miles. (I was out in the park for about an hour and the battery ran low. ) Overall, I am very pleased by blink lite and I recommend it to everyone.

Never done skateboarding before, felt like it’s not a girl thing, until got this gift from my friend. It’s super easy to ride even though I didn’t have any experience. The remote is easy to control and brake is gentle, only tried the reverse mode once, not sure what it is for, guess it’s cool to have more features. The ride is smooth and I can easy make turns just like the snowboard. I have ridden the board by the Santa Monica beach and received many compliments. Now all my friends want to borrow my board! The only down side for me is I feel it’s a little bit heavy compare to the regular skateboard like my brother got, but I heard it’s already the lightest one in the electric family. Anyway, love it!

I bought this board to help with my commute in Midtown Manhattan. I have a two mile commute to work and I needed a reliable board that I could store underneath my desk. The blink lite was the only board that fit my constraints so when it was released I purchased it right away.

The board has been very reliable and fits the specs listed. Controller stays connected, app works great if you are interested in tracking total mileage etc., brakes are helpful and the board is very maneuverable. Best of all worlds for someone looking to cover a few miles a little faster. Love the ability to coast!

As a college student I needed a board that would help me do my little commutes from going to one class to another since my campus is pretty big. I stumbled upon the blink board lite and boy did it not disappoint. I didn’t want to go too fast anyway because I might crash into someone since there’s so many people in my campus. Anyway what stood out to me was that not only was the board made well, but it is also inexpensive. The best thing is that you can ride it like a regular skateboard when the battery dies and it’s hella smooth. This product is definitely perfect for a college student and just going around. I use it as an adventure board too! I would say it’s definitely my best summer buy! Check out my instagram Redmar_28 if you wanna see more pictures or videos(in the next week) of the Acton blink in action! Thank you Acton for an amazing product!

It’s probably great for people who have small feet and are shorter than me, but at 6’00”, 170lbs, size 12 shoes, it wasn’t a good fit. The deck just isn’t wide enough for me to keep control. That said, I’ve been using my blink lite, for about a month, to go to and from work. I hated it at first, but once I swapped the battery and motor to a bigger deck, I fell in love with it. For the price I paid ($299), it’s definitely worth buying to just use the motor and battery. Just buy a cheap cruiser deck to put them on and it’s a dream to ride. (The deck I bought is 9.5″x32″)

This skateboard would be awesome for a kid. It is a little sluggish for adults/heavier riders but it still gets up to 7-8mph on flat roads, it will not go up hills with heavy riders by the electric motors alone. Overall I would still buy it again, Its still a ton of fun.

Great little board if you are less than 190 and don’t have to go too far or too fast.

Was impressed with the quality of this skateboard, and it works remarkably well. My grandson is in love with it!

I bought 2 of these at Christmas for my sons. The Blink Lite Electric Skateboard has proven to be dependable quality and a ton of fun. You can’t go wrong with this skateboard at this price point.

  14. 5 out of 5

This board has amazing regenerative breaking, hidden motors and led lights! Some Things even the 1200 boosted board doesn’t have. But there is just one flaw to this and that is the battery life. 5 miles is not very long – you can probably just about hatch a Pokemon go egg. I would’ve liked to see 7 miles + for an electric skateboard, but the 7.7lb weight is so light to make portability a big plus.

  15. 5 out of 5

This is my first electric skateboard, and I’m definitely happy with the purchase. The “fit and finish” is definitely spot-on: has a hub motor and the deck is flexible enough to absorb the smaller bumps on the road, which so far has yielded a surprisingly comfortable ride. If it wasn’t for the led lighting, you’d be hard-pressed to discern it from a regular board and an electric board. It just looks clean. It takes a bit to get it up to full speed, but once it gets there, it cruises at a nice comfortable speed–won’t win you any races, though.
